Bio

Hi, I’m Dr Nahid Moradi. I’m a GP with a strong background in research, a deep love for science, and a commitment to inclusive, patient-centred care. I graduated from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran in 2015, and later completed my PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2023, focusing on neuroimmunology, neuromuscular diseases, and biostatistics.
Even as a kid, I was fascinated by biology — always trying to understand how living things work. That early curiosity led me down a path of research and medicine, especially when I realised that sometimes biology doesn’t work the way it should. Becoming a doctor felt like the natural way to turn that fascination into something meaningful.
What I love most about being a GP is the variety — no two days are ever the same. I enjoy being the first point of contact for patients because it gives me the chance to make a real impact from the start. My special interests include women’s health (especially menopause support), chronic headaches, chronic illnesses, mental health and wellbeing, and LGBTQI+ inclusive care.
Outside of work, I’m a full-blown nerd. I love sci-fi movies, video games, and old-school arcade games. When I’m not in nerd mode, I’m usually out hiking or exploring the hidden gems around Victoria. I also absolutely love food — Mexican and Middle Eastern cuisine are at the top of my list.
Working in Bacchus Marsh is something I’m really proud of. Driving through the Avenue of Honour each morning gives me a sense of calm, respect, and purpose. We’re lucky to have one of the last surviving Avenues in the world lined with Canadian Elms — and having that just down the road is pretty special.
