Hi, I’m Dr. Jayani Fernando. I graduated in 2009 from the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka, and I’ve been practicing medicine ever since. I chose to become a doctor because for me, medicine is more than a profession—it’s a service to people in need.

As a GP, what I love most is the privilege of being there for people at every stage of life. Whether it’s helping with something mild or serious, sharing in happy moments, or supporting through difficult news, I value being able to walk alongside patients in all of life’s ups and downs.

My special interests include General Medicine, Paediatrics, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Mental Health, and Chronic Disease care. These areas give me the chance to make a real difference in both immediate care and long-term health.

Outside of medicine, I enjoy listening to music, cooking, baking, and decorating. I enjoy the versatile food culture in Australia —Asian cuisine and Latin American desserts are my favorite.

I feel very fortunate to be part of Bacchus. It’s such a beautiful area with a welcoming community, and our clinic staff feels like family—close, warm, and supportive.
